Cheering her On!

I’ve been with my match now for 5 1/2 years. I am the only visitor she has ever had.

During the course of meeting with my match, she has gotten her GED and also taken health care courses through the community college and computer classes with through the correctional system. She’s told me that her confidence to continue her education was inspired by my having gone back to school when I was 51 to get the education I needed for a new job. She felt if I could do it at 51, she could at 45.

She needs someone to encourage her to try new leadership roles, to cheer her on when she gets a job promotion, to share spiritual and moral truths with, to praise her when she invests in the lives of others, to commend her for her commitment to obey authority and treat everyone with respect.

She’s actually an amazing role model to me, but I know that she would tell you that I am a role model for her. Seems like the perfect arrangement, one I know is God-ordained.
